利兹大学是利兹英国规模最大、最负盛名的大学的语大学之一。学校始终致力于研究科学与产业之间的言学样关系，并将研究成果致力于利兹市的专业发展。利兹大学以教育成果享誉世界，利兹每年获得的大学的语美食摄影大赛 超群绝伦研究经费额度为英国各大学的前十名，所以在英国本土很受学生和家长的言学样欢迎。
利兹大学的专业前身是建立于1831年的利兹医学院，以及建立于1874年的利兹约克郡科学院。1887年这两个学校与曼彻斯特欧文学院、大学的语利物浦大学学院合并为维多利亚联合大学。言学样1904年利兹大学获得皇家许可而成为独立的专业大学。经过一个多世纪的利兹发展，利兹大学成为了英国最负盛名的大学的语大学之一。利兹大学还是言学样英国白玫瑰大学联盟、N8大学联盟、英联邦大学联盟、欧洲大学联盟、红砖大学和罗素大学集团成员。利兹大学位于英格兰北部利兹市。大学的主体部分皆建于19世纪下半叶，当时的目的是为了达成对当地科学和技术发展的教育要求。1904年英王爱德华七世正式授予利兹大学大学的名号。
